Paint Thinner

Paint Thinner

Wouldn’t it be great if we could just paint ourselves thinner? Did you know that you actually can? Not in a literal sense but figuratively – which by the way would actually lead to a literally thinner person.

Back around 1995 I read a book called Being Digital by Nicholas Negroponte; he was one the leading minds from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) – basically a very intelligent and visionary sort. His book talked about the digital revolution and I recall some keen insights.

As I recall it, one such insight was his prediction around entertainment. In effect, he stated that the day would come when you would buy a TV set in a paint can. You may buy a 1 gallon TV or a 5 gallon TV. The receptors would be integrated into the paint, as would be the power supply. It would paint on like a gel (plasma) and be removable or portable. It may serve as your radio alarm clock, peeling it off the night stand to take in the shower for music and morning news prior to being slapped on your arm as you hustle to your car where you fling it on the dashboard as it begins to serve as entertainment and traffic companion / GPS device.

My recollection may not be perfect but as you can see we are headed to a state where envisioning his description is plausible. TV’s are ultra thin and the convergence of various technologies is allowing us new functionality from many substances.

Getting back to weight loss, how does one paint oneself thin? My point about the TV in a paint can story was to help you grasp on to the totality of change; the pace of change. Our worlds have come so far in the last 15 – 20 years.

The photo included in this post was provided by one of our customers and I am not sure of the source. It is a humoristic impression of Empower Me Photo. That is not what it is designed as but that is how I see it. We revise photos to help people see how they will look if they are able to stay committed to their diet or exercise program. These tools are designed to motivate the customer toward staying on their program over the long run. And man do they work.

Paint yourself thinner? Look, if you saw yourself as a thinner person (someone slimmer and healthier) you would be amazed at the change you will encounter. If you saw yourself as thinner, you would begin to respond and react to things as that thinner person would react. You begin to engage the world around you consistent with your new vision and you allow change to happen.

It does not need to be a battle. It does not need to be so doom and gloom. Your weight loss journey can be a smooth and joyous process; and it all starts with a couple of simple mental shifts in thought.

Let The Vision Empower You!
