Talking about preventive health? The CDC reports roughly 70% of the medical expenses in this country go to treat preventive diseases. In other words, these are expenses that didn’t have to be incurred if only a person had taken better care of him/herself; stopped smoking, exercised, eaten better. It makes so much sense.
A Quick Trip Down Memory Lane

With the Olympics taking place, I thought I would share a photo of when I carried the Olympic Torch leading up to the 1996 Atlanta Games.
Also, it’s been a busy couple of weeks with High School Referee duties and many special Senior Night Celebrations in Orange County.
The soccer photo is from my Senior Night at Bethel Park High School (30 years ago) – I bet Cheryl Mance is as hot as ever.
May my Mother Rest In Peace and many prayers for my Father who starts Chemo Therapy this week.
Enjoy your day everyone!
Coffee, The Drink of the Uninspired
Posted by Kevin Graham
Look, I've had a few vices in my life over the years. But fortunately, coffee was never one of them. Sure, I've tried it: 3 or 4 times in my entire life. And guess what, I loved it every time that I can remember.
But I also knew that many people cannot fully turn off the alarm clock in the morning without their coffee. Any many other people drink endless cups of it on a daily basis or else they cannot get through the day. Doesn't that sound ridiculous?

In today’s post I would like to share some exciting and simple information from a recent book, Nutrition At Your Fingertips. As the release for the book states, Nutrition at Your Fingertips is the “go to” guide to have on your desk or kitchen counter. It teaches you:
• How to eat to beat diseases that may be preventable
• The functions of vitamins and minerals and where to get them
• The symptoms of a food allergy, intolerance and sensitivity
• How to burn more calories in less time
• How consuming more fiber can slim your waistline and how to get more of it
My favorites from Steve Siebold's recent book: Die Fat or Get Tough

Die Fast or Get Tough - 101 Differences in Thinking Between Fat People and Fit People. That's the title of the recent book by Author Steve Siebold and I love it. First of all, it's a quick read which is important to me. Even better, it is the type of book you can scan read and drill down on the most interesting sections. But more important than either of those comments, it is quality material that quickly highlights distinctions between the mental approaches of over weight people and fit people. There are some real gems in there and I would encourage you to check it out.
Fear Is My Bride - Discover how embracing your fears is your key to weight loss

Fear is My Bride - How your biggest fears are your best friend in weight loss.
The boxing great (and the mainstream disaster) Mike Tyson used to say it all of the time: “Fear Is My Bride”. He lived and worked in a sport that could kill him in a single swing. And he was aggressive in the ring. Much of his aggression (and remarkable success) stemmed from his fear.

The obesity epidemic is out of control. Two-thirds of Americans are overweight or obese according to the federal government. Today’s deluded society blames the food manufacturers, the restaurants, portion sizes, cortisol and thyroid glands. No more excuses! The truth is that only you are responsible for your waistline. The bottom line: If you’re fat, it’s your own fault.
